Contract precision machining and fabrication from the in house shop that builds our own equipment, for customers who need parts and assemblies made to exacting tolerances without building the shop themselves.

The shop

Atlanta Precision Machining and Fabrication (APMF) is the in house metalworking that builds our own equipment, offered to customers as a contract service. From concept to installation, it takes a component or an assembly from a drawing to a finished, installed part.

The equipment list, the materials, and the services are the same ones we use to hold our own tolerances, which is the whole point: a customer gets the machining capability of a company that measures in thousandths, without building the shop themselves.

Concept to installation is the whole arc of an APMF engagement: a customer brings a drawing, a sample, or a problem, and the shop takes it through design, machining and fabrication, assembly, and final installation into a finished, running part. It is the same path a machine takes when we build one for our own equipment lines, offered to customers as a contract service.

The value of running that arc under one roof is that nothing is handed across a gap where tolerance and intent get lost. The engineers who interpret the drawing work with the machinists who cut the part and the technicians who install it, so a dimension that matters is understood the same way from concept through the finished, installed component.

This is the right service for a customer who needs a part or assembly made, and made right, not just a block of metal cut. Scoping an engagement means defining the part and its tolerances, the materials and finish it requires, and whether the work ends at a finished part or continues through to installation.

The equipment list is the machining and fabrication capability APMF puts behind contract work: the milling, turning, cutting, and fabrication equipment the shop uses every day to build our own sewing automation to the tolerances it demands. A customer contract part is made on the same machines that hold our own thousandths.

What the list represents is capability rather than a catalog to buy from: the range of operations the shop can perform in house, from precision milling and turning to sheet and structural fabrication, without subcontracting the steps a tolerance depends on. Keeping the operations together is what lets the shop control the result end to end.

The equipment behind an engagement decides what the shop can make and to what tolerance, so it is the first question a contract customer should ask. Understanding it means matching the operations your part needs to the shop in house capability, the tolerances the equipment holds, and the size and material range it can work.

Materials used covers the metals and stock APMF works in for contract parts: the steels, aluminum, and specialty alloys the shop machines and fabricates every day building our own equipment. A contract part is made from the material the job needs, worked by a shop that knows how each behaves under the tool.

The material is not incidental to a precision part, it decides how the part is cut, how it holds a tolerance, how it finishes, and how it wears in service. A shop that works a range of metals daily brings that knowledge to a contract job, choosing feeds, speeds, and finishing to the material rather than forcing one approach onto every part.

The right material is part of engineering the part, not just a purchase, so it is discussed at the start of an engagement. Deciding it means matching the metal to the part function and tolerance, the finish and wear the application demands, and the material machinability against the finished result required.

Services is the contract machining and fabrication APMF offers customers directly: precision machining of components, fabrication of assemblies, and the engineering and installation that surround them. It is the in house metalworking that builds our sewing automation, made available to a customer who needs the capability without building the shop.

The services span a part made to a drawing, an assembly fabricated and finished, and the engineering support to get a design right before it is cut. Because the same group serves our own equipment lines, a customer work is held to the standard we hold ourselves to, measured in thousandths and documented so it can be repeated.

The service fits a customer who needs precision parts or assemblies and wants them made by a shop that lives at that tolerance. Defining an engagement means naming the machining or fabrication the part requires, the tolerance and finish it must meet, and whether it needs engineering and installation support around the making.
